Public Administration

Communicating with people and informing them so that they may better take advantage of services made available to them

From city halls to regional municipalities, from chambers of commerce to courthouses, from police stations to the Department of Motor Vehicles, informing and communicating with the public has become an issue of primary importance.

The manner and effectiveness with which these organizations communicate with citizens is therefore extremely important: Digital Signage represents an answer to this problem, in that it allows the distribution of messages to certain locations at certain times, and it does so dynamically, interactively and engagingly. The ability to transform the inevitable waiting times for public services into moments in which useful information is communicated can be the difference between a service that is perceived as inefficient and one that is considered practical and satisfying.

In terms of Digital signage, Solari’s solution is represented by hardware components that go from the TFT-LCD displays to the information kiosks, designed in different sizes and types, so that the solution may be capable of adapting as much as possible to the characteristics of the environments in which it is installed. The product line is then completed with the LED bulletin boards, which can be used to inform users who are outside of the buildings, by the Digital Signage Box, which is a peripheral device capable of distributing multimedia contents to various devices, and, perhaps most importantly, by the Scenario software component.

Scenario is an application designed for the PC platform and Windows operating system environment, and it is characterized by its simplicity and ease of installation and use. Thanks to Scenario’s features, it is possible to update and change the contents of any display, and customize the information shown on each individual display or group of displays at any time, however they may be located throughout the information distribution system, both locally and throughout the region. Furthermore, the devices are updated in real-time, or according to predefined schedules.

One last interesting consideration, especially in complex environments such as the Public Administration, is the possibility of integrating the Digital Signage solution with the queue management system, which allows one to use the same objects, for example TFT-LCD displays, both for showing various multimedia contents, as well as for highlighting the state of the queue, in separate portions of the screen.
