Frequently Asked Questions

ETK 1615

  • How many tickets can the dispenser print?

The tickets are produced with a thermal printer, which is integrated within the housing of the device. The high-quality printer is capable of dispensing about 20 tickets per minute.

  • How does one know when it is time to change the paper in the dispenser?

The thermal printer, with which the dispenser is equipped, has sensors for signaling when the printing paper is almost out (paper almost out – first level signal), as well as the total absence of paper (paper out – second level signal). The central system is notified of these events as well as the system operators. Therefore, on one hand, it isn’t necessary to periodically verify the state of the printing paper, and on the other hand, it is possible to substitute the paper roll before it is completely finished, rendering the dispenser unusable.

  • How are the printed tickets numbered?

The ticket numbering is programmed by means of the SmartQ management software. It is therefore not difficult to create a numbering from A001 to A999, to differentiate the codes for the various services (A/B/C/D, etc.) provided.

  • What kind of touch-screen display does the dispenser mount? How can someone interact with it?

The display is a resistive touch-screen device, it works with any pressure: using fingers isn’t strictly necessary, any object can be used.

  • How long does a touchscreen display last?

The dispenser’s touchscreen is highly reliable: tests have shown that the display with which it is equipped shows no defects, even after being touched 1 million times in the same position.

  • Why should I choose the ETK 1623 instead of a small ETK 1615?

The performance of the ETK 1623 is certainly greater and the characteristics of the paper used make it more suitable for environments in which large transaction volumes take place. Furthermore, the availability of barcode and smart card readers open up the doors to many possibilities. Being that it is equipped with an I3 processor, it can also be used as a central server, avoiding the need to install the central system on another dedicated PC. Finally, the size of the display, combined with its graphics performance, make it possible to use the ETK 1623 as a multimedia communication device, with the same capabilities of any other dedicated display. All of these characteristics differentiate the ETK 1623 from the simpler ETK 1615, which offers a smaller size and price as its advantages.
